The Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan released the Kerala TET notification on 23rd March 2023. The Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (KTET) is a teaching eligibility test conducted in Kerala state. The KTET is an examination to assess the quality of teacher candidates for Lower Primary, Upper Primary, and High School Classes in Kerala.

Applications for Kerala TET exam for Upper Primary, Lower Primary, and High Schools Teacher of Kerala starting from 3rd April 2023. The test will be conducted in four categories in the month of May 2023 by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Kerala. Kerala TET Eligibility Criteria

The candidate’s educational qualifications for different categories are as shared below:

• The candidate must have completed their Higher Secondary or equivalent with at least 45% and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education following the NCTE Regulations 2002. Or
• Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.). Or
• Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

• The candidate must have completed B.A/ B.Sc./ B.Com. and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/ Trained Teachers’ Certificate conducted by the Board of Exam, Govt. of Kerala or its equivalent. Or
• BA/B.Sc./B.Com with at least 45% marks and one-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), following NCTE Regulations issued from time to time in this regard or Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.). Or
• Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 years BA/ B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed or B.Sc.Ed.

• The candidate should have completed BA/ BSc/ B.Com with marks of at least 45% and a B.Ed degree in the subject concerned from any of the universities in Kerala or from any other university recognized as equivalent.
• For those who have MSc. Ed. in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology, A degree with not less than 50 percent of the marks of one of the Regional Institutes of Education funded by NCERT will be eligible to apply for the subject matter concerned. For the subjects of Botany and Zoology, those with an MSc. Ed., Ed. It is possible to apply for a Degree in Life Science with not less than 50 percent marks from any of the Regional Institutes of Education.
• Candidates from SC/ST and differently-abled categories will be provided with a relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum qualifying marks. Candidates from OBC & OEC categories will be given a relaxation of 3% in the qualifying marks to appear for the K-TET.

The test will be organized for Language teachers in Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit, and Urdu (up to Upper Primary level), Specialist teachers, and Physical Education teachers.

The candidates may remit the examination fee by Debit Card/Credit Card/ Net Banking. The examination fee for different categories is shared below.

How to apply for Kerala TET Notification 2023

1. Visit the official website at ktet.kerala.gov.in.
2. Go to the section “Candidate Login”.
3. Click on the link “KTET APR 2023” for registration.
4. The link will direct you to the registration portal.
5. The candidate should fill in all the details requested in the application form correctly.
6. Update the choice of examination centers.
7. Upload scanned images of the Candidate’s Photograph and Candidate’s Signature in JPG/JPEG format.
8. Once the candidate has completed the application form, they should pay the application fee if applicable.
