There have reportedly been four cases of this subvariant found in India so far.

ANI states that in the months of July, September, and November, four positive cases of BF.7 were reported to have occurred in the state of Gujarat. One of these cases originated in the state of Odisha. The Gujarat Biotechnology Research Centre discovered the first case of BF.7 to occur in the country of India in the month of October.

The common symptoms include a runny nose, fever, lethargy, a sore throat, headache, and general body aches and pains. Patients who are infected will also exhibit symptoms related to their respiratory system, including a cough. Additionally, patients are complaining of abdominal problems such as stomach aches and diarrhoea.

The number of cases of pneumonia caused by the BF.7 variant is unquestionably lower than the number of cases that occur in aged people or in those who already have underlying illnesses. We are not seeing too many hospitalisations with Omicron, and early statistics from nations that are experiencing BF.7 tell us that mortality with BF.7 is low.
