Visakhapatnam to be New Capital of Andhra Pradesh, Announced by CM Jagan Mohan Reddy

At the International Diplomatic Alliance meeting in Delhi, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy officially declared that Visakhapatnam will be the new capital of Andhra Pradesh. He also added that he will also be shifting to Vizag in the upcoming months.

“I am here to invite you to Visakhapatnam, which will be our capital. I will also be shifting to Vizag,” said the AP Chief Minister.

“I invite you and your colleagues to see for yourself how easy it is to do business in Andhra Pradesh,” CM Jagan Mohan Reddy added.

It is expected that the state legislature will function from Amaravati. The Andhra Pradesh government declared Amaravati as its capital on 23 April 2015 after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

Visakhapatnam Capital of Andhra Pradesh

Natives have different visions on this decision. Some people call it a political stunt. But from an economic point of view, Visakhapatnam is good for Capital Construction. But this decision can also raise doubt about backwardness in the masses of Amravati. Because the government is building a state high court and other major projects in Amravati.
